Athletics to Unveil New State-of-the-Art Computer Lab

Utah Valley University Athletics will unveil its new state-of-the-art computer lab, donated by Vucci Technology Solutions, tomorrow in a formal ribbon cutting. Vucci donated $100,000 worth of equipment and services to refit the athletics department computer lab with virtual desktops and managed services. This equated to 30 computer terminals together with the backend virtualization infrastructure that was needed in order to adequately meet the student athletes’ academic needs.

The new computer lab showcases the implementation of Vucci’s virtual desktops and provides an excellent example of the cost savings and green initiatives Vucci’s virtualization services provide.

Speakers at tomorrow’s ribbon cutting will include:

• Michael Jacobsen, director of UVU Athletics: Jacobsen is finishing his 25th year as athletic director at UVU. With Jacobsen leading the way, Utah Valley has made a successful and unprecedented jump from the junior college ranks to NCAA Division 1 status.
