Art McKinlay recently became UVU’s Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement, joining UVU after having worked for 11 years in LDS Philanthropies at Brigham Young University, as well as two years serving as a director for the Ira A. and Mary Lou Fulton Family Foundation and president of America’s Freedom Foundation.
As Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement, McKinlay will work largely in fundraising for the University, particularly in creating funds for new, much-needed buildings and student scholarships.
“He’s had tremendous success in fundraising over the last decade,” said Val Hale, vice president of Institutional Advancement at UVU.“We’re excited to have his experience and leadership in that area here at UVU during this critical time in our history.”
“Excited is a modest word for how I feel accepting this new assignment,” said McKinlay. “I've been watching the rise of this institution from its early days as the Utah Trade Technical Institute to its current status as Utah Valley University. I'm proud to be working with Institutional Advancement Vice President Val Hale, as we prepare for major funding programs for UVU and set the stage for a new incoming president.”
McKinlay has a bachelor’s degree from BYU in communications with
emphasis in public relations. He currently resides in Orem, Utah with
his wife, Kathy Jo. The two have four children and two grandchildren.
