Every September, Utah Valley State College promotes donations from its full-time and part-time faculty and staff through the Faculty/Staff Fundraising Campaign. This year’s theme is “One Step Closer to Making a Difference.”
“The idea is any donation, regardless of the amount, will benefit the College,” said Cristina Pianezzola, director of annual giving.“We encourage all faculty and staff to participate.”
The program emphasizes participation, not amount. Many choose to make
small, regular donations directly from their paychecks. To encourage
participation, any department with 100 percent participation will get
to have a lunch with UVSC President William A. Sederburg.
Also, donors can decide what the money is used for, instead of donating to one or two previously approved funds. They can even donate to their own department, especially since those are the needs they would be most aware of.
“Last year was extremely successful,” Pianezzola said. “We raised almost $200,000.”
Faculty and staff can donate through payroll deduction, cash or check. Payroll deduction forms and other general information can be found at www.uvsc.edu/giving/annualgiving/faculty.html.
