Technology Lecture Series Presents Nicole Toomey-Davis

UVSC is holding their Technology Lecture Series October 4 in CS404 at 11:30 a.m. The lecture will feature speaker, Nicole Toomey-Davis.

Toomey-Davis is the director of the Centers of Excellence Program in the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED). She was recruited by GOED to bring her experience as an entrepreneur to help accelerate the commercialization of Utah's most promising University-based technologies. She is a current technology entrepreneur, leading Enclavix, LLC, a very early stage software and technology development company and she is the former President, CEO and co-founder of DoBox, Inc., the leading provider of software and parental control solutions for the broadband gateway industry. Toomey-Davis launched DoBox in 1999 and led the company to a successful acquisition by Netopia, Inc. in early 2002.

She will be speaking on the topic, “The State of Utah's Role in Technology Development.”

“Toomey-Davis was a great candidate for our lecture series and was selected because of her previous experience in developing technology-based companies and for her current position in the Governor's Office,” said Dave Johnson, associate dean in the school of Technology & Computing. “This event is great for students and those of the public interested in new and uprising technology and how to excel in the field of technology.”

The event is free and open to the public.
