Touchstones, a UVSC undergraduate literary journal is hosting My Word, a celebration of the magazine’s 10th anniversary and releasing the newest issue, December 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event will be located at Centre Stage.
The evening will consist of food, prizes and readings by students featured in the upcoming issue of “Touchstones.”
Readings will be given by students who won a writing contest for their stories and poems. These selected nine student entries were chosen out of 300-400 submitted pieces. The winners were published in this semester’s issue. Also included in this semester’s issue is a volume collecting the best of the last ten years of “Touchstones.”
“Touchstones is a great chance for students to have their work published,” said Steve Gibson, assistant professor of English and Literature. “This is wonderful for students interested in creative writing, art and the publishing industry. The event will congratulate the winners of our contests, celebrate the release of the newest issue of Touchstones and commemorate our tenth year of publication.”
The event is free and open to the public. The newest issue of “Touchstones” is now available and can be purchased at the UVSC Bookstore or in the English Department.
