Heber City residents beware—a pack of wolverines will soon be roaming the streets. On Saturday, September 29, UVSC’s Wasatch Campus will be holding a “Run for the Money” 5k run/walk, starting at Wasatch Campus, which is located on US Highway 40 in Heber City. Check-in begins at 7:30a.m. and the race starts at 8a.m.
The run/walk is sponsored by the UVSC Intramural Department and funds raised will be put toward academic student scholarships. This is the first of what Katie Young, coordinator of student life at UVSC, hopes will become a semiannual event. “We would like to continue it,” said Young. “It’s a good benefit for the students. We’re involving the community in this—families are invited and it’s open to all ages.”
Those interested in participating can register at the Wasatch Campus or can call Caryl at (801) 863-6607. Early bird registration is $10 and lasts up until the day of the race. Day-of registration is $15.
