Minister-Counselor of Chinese Embassy to the U.S. Speaks at UVSC

The School of Technology and Computing will host Jin Ju, minister-counselor for science & technology in the Chinese embassy to the United States, as part of its weekly lecture series Nov. 29 at 11:30 a.m. in CS 404. His lecture is titled, “China's Science and Technology Development and China-U.S. S&T Collaboration.”

Jin obtained a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Science & Technology Information in China, and Master of Science in Technology Management at Sussex University of the United Kingdom. He has worked in international cooperation in science and technology at the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST).

From 1995 to 1997, he was the First Secretary of the Chinese Embassy in the United States. From 1997 to 2000, he was posted as the Science & Technology Counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Australia. From 2000 to 2005, he served as the Deputy Director-General in the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He was appointed as the Chinese Representative at the Commission of Science and Technology for Development in the United Nations from 2004 to 2005.
