Utah Valley State College’s Student Health Services Wellness Program is sponsoring a stress management workshop for students Sept. 19 in SC 206 A and B at noon.
“We provide this workshop at the beginning of the semester to help students with the stress they will be dealing with in the future,” said Emily Jones, assistant coordinator. “This will help them handle the stress with their classes and with life in a better way.”
Darren Brooks, president and director of The Bridge Recovery Center – a pain and treatment center in Southern Utah – will speak at the workshop.
“A lot of people focus on external ways of preventing stress,” Jones said. “But Brooks looks at stress from the internal. He will talk about how attitude and thoughts can help people deal with their stress.”
The event is free and open to the public.
