Digital Media Expert and CEO to speak at UVSC
Kimberly Jones, CEO of Vérité a multimedia software developing agency, will be the featured guest speaker at the UVSC School of Business Executive Lecture Series, November 2 at 12 p.m. at the Ragan Theater in the Sorensen Student Center.
After more than 12 years working in Silicon Valley and three years with film and video marketing and co-production in Salt Lake City, Jones founded Vérité, a multimedia software developing agency. Jones in-depth knowledge of the concepts and objectives required for media production and background in software applications development inspired her with a vision for taking media to a digital communications platform. A philosophy based on each production or application being a collective work with a distinctive look, feel, sound and sense.
“The Executive Lecture series is a first-rate opportunity for students to discuss and learn business principles and practices with skilled professionals,” said Doug Miller, department chair of Business Management. “Students can gain a better understanding of how to be successful in the business world listening to such individuals as Mrs. Jones.”
For the past 10 years, Jones has been the driving force behind the company’s growth and accomplishments. Awards include the Distinguished Interface Award from the Society for Technical Communications, 1996-97, the PRSA Gold Award for Interface Design 2003 and recently Jones was awarded for the Governor’s Internet Taxation initiative interactive campaign. She is also the Chairman of the Board for the Utah Information Technology Association and a Trustee on Westminster College’s MBA Advisory Board.
