Annual Women in Technology Conference at UVSC
UVSC’s Women in Technology program will host the fourth annual Women’s Conference Nov. 29 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference, titled “Elevate Your Vision,” will feature keynote speaker Marilyn Tang, president of Certified Handling Systems in Salt Lake City. Tang is believed to be the first woman business owner in the country in the industrial field of materials handling, traditionally a male-dominated industry.
“The conference is highlighting different careers in technology where women make up 25 percent of the industry or less,” said Melissa Draper, assistant director of Women in Technology. “It’s a lot of fun and a fantastic way to network.”
Registration and a continental breakfast will kick-off the conference at 8 a.m., followed by Tang’s presentation, five breakout sessions and a networking luncheon, focusing on opportunities available to women in technology industries.
Public registration is $69, $39 for UVSC faculty and staff and $15 for UVSC students. Register online at www.uvsc.edu/conted/c&w, call (801) 863-8894 or register at the conference.
