UVSC's Woodbury Art Museum Features Prominent Local Artists
Utah Valley State College's Woodbury Art Museum will open a new exhibit October 13 with a reception from 6-9 p.m. at the museum (575 E. University Parkway, Orem, at the University Mall between Nordstrom and The Gap). The new show will display the work of Bruce Smith, best known for his figurative painting and composition, Robert Marshall, whose recent works focus on what he describes as the intrinsic beauty of a particular location and Downy Doxey, a new artist whose work is considered nostalgic and explorative.
"When one considers the development of the arts in Utah, and more particularly in Utah County, an account would be incomplete without acknowledging the imprint of Robert Marshall and Bruce Smith," said Marcus Vincent, Woodbury director. "Downy Doxey is an emerging artist of growing reputation and, coincidentally, daughter-in-law to Marshall."
This exhibit marks the second at the Woodbury since it has been recently renovated. The show willl run from October 13 - January 6, 2007. The museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 12-8 p.m. The Woodbury is located on the second floor of the University Mall in Orem between Nordstom and The Gap. Admission to the museum and the reception are free and open to the public.
