UVSC Celebrates 65th Anniversary with Annual Scholarship Ball
Utah Valley State College President William A. Sederburg will host UVSC’s annual President’s Scholarship Ball, a black tie optional event, to raise money for student scholarships October 20 at 6 p.m. in the McKay Center. The 16th annual ball, commemorating UVSC’s 65th anniversary, will feature a six-course meal and reception presented by UVSC culinary arts students and performances by UVSC’s ballroom dance team and orchestra.
“It’s a fun evening for everyone that attends,” said Mike Maughan, UVSC campus events director and coordinator for the ball. “We want to put our best foot forward and wow the audience with everything UVSC has to offer.”
Four of UVSC’s former presidents will be in attendance: Wilson W. Sorensen, Marvin J. Higbee, Kerry D. Romesburg and Lucille Stoddard. A reception will precede the ball from 6-7 p.m., followed by dinner, entertainment and dancing with music by Dick Losee’s band. The cost is $150 per plate.
