World Renowned Author, Speaker and Businessman to Speak at UVSC

Co-founder of Covey Leadership Center, now Franklin-Covey Co., and distinguished author, A. Roger Merrill, will speak on “The Leadership Choice” Nov. 9 at noon in the Sorensen Student Center Ragan Theater as part of the School of Business Executive Lecture Series. Merrill, also a renowned leadership speaker and businessman, is a Utah County native.

“Merrill has authored or co-authored a few of the most important leadership books of the last 10 years,” said Doug Miller, department chair of business management at UVSC. “Roger is also an internationally sought after presenter.”

In 1994 Roger co-authored the international best seller, “First Things First,”with his wife Rebecca R. Merrill and Stephen R. Covey.  Since then, Roger has authored and co-authored several books under the leadership genre, including a book he co-authored with his wife Rebecca in 2004, “Life Matters: Creating a Dynamic Balance of Work, Family, Time and Money,” which was recognized as one of the 30 best business books of the year by Soundview Executive Summaries. Roger’s expertise has been featured on television programs such as, “The Today Show” and “World News Tonight,”and in various magazines including, “Fortune.

Miller said Merrill is interested in the success of Utah Valley State students and is donating his time for the presentation. His speech is free and open to the public.
